Athena

Athena was designed in a small black box theatre, in an alley configuration. All of the fencing bouts were underscored, the challenge was to not make the fencing that takes place outside of the big qualifiers match, seem as large/important as the two characters practicing.

The show used OSC with the lighting console, so when the buzzer went off to indicate a hit, it would also trigger lighting inside of the fencing strip.  In the qualifiers audio below, it has been shortened as the actual time of the bout was around 7 minutes.
